Storms and Floods

Tropical Storms

Indian Ocean:

Tropical Cyclone Bejisa is moving away from the Vanilla Islands southwestwards and is not expected to have further interaction with land.

Tropical cyclone 01b (one), located approximately 235 nm south-southeast of Chennai, India, has tracked westward at 03 knots. Tc 01b is slowly tracking westward along the southern periphery of a subtropical ridge to the north and is expected to take a slight west-southwest track through the remainder of the forecast as the system interacts with the dominate northeasterly low level flow. As the system approaches the northern coast of Sri Lanka, the hampering effects of the land interaction will dissipate the system within the next day.
