Tropical Storms

In the Eastern Pacific:

Tropical Storm Henriette is strengthening as it churns through the Pacific Ocean.

According to the most recent National Hurricane Centre (NHC) public advisory issued Monday at 8:00 a.m. PST, Henriette is located approximately 1,415 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California and 1,175 miles east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii.

In the Western Pacific:

Tropical cyclone Kiko forms near the Philippines approximately 280 kilometres northwest of Puerto Princesa City or 320 km west of Coron, Palawan with maximum winds of 55 kilometres per hour near the center.

It is forecast to move west northwest at 15 kph.

Other News:

A powerful storm with strong winds and rain hit southern and western Bohemia and moved to Moravia before striking the Czech Republic where some ten thousand homes were left without power. A state of emergency was temporarily declared for tntral Bohemia and the Pardubice region.

Another tornado hits Australia in two days, this time in North Coogee, injuring at least ten people.

Landslide triggered by a heavy downpour in Kerala, India has claimed the lives of at least nine people.
