Saudi Arabia - A sudden storm in the Saudi city of Makkah on Thursday evening caused flash floods and wreaked havoc. The neighbourhoods of Shawqiya, Om Al Jowd and Al Taniiem as well as elevated areas were hit by the storm that recalled a similar disaster that happened years ago. Light to heavy rains have also fell over Taif, Madinah, Jeddah and others parts of western Saudi Arabia. Dozens of vehicles were carried away by the floods while onlookers watched helplessly.
Cyprus - Non-stop rain yesterday flooded a dozen homes and caused minor traffic accidents on slippery roads.
Missouri, USA - Strong, fast moving thunderstorms spun up at least one tornado in southwest Missouri Thursday afternoon.
