A new map of sea surface temperatures shows the ocean-heat engine that drives the formation of hurricanes, typhoons and tropical cyclones. Forecasters are predicting a relatively quiet 2014 Atlantic hurricane season.

Malaysia - A heavy downpour caused a massive flash flood at the Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIA) Gombak campus, Kuala Lampur, Wednesday afternoon.

Kansas, USA - A tornado hit Willis in northeast Kansas Wednedsay, toppling 52 cars of a coal train. The National Weather Service confirmed the small town was hit by an EF-1 tornado, with winds up to 100 mph. The 134-car coal train was bound from Wyoming to Arkansas and stopped because of the extreme weather.
