In the Western Pacific Ocean: Tropical Storm 22w (Goni), located approximately 216 nm east-southeast of Da Nang, Vietnam, is tracking west-southwestward at 04 knots.

Tropical storm 23w (Atsani), located approximately 399 nm south-southwest of Kadena AFB, Japan, is tracking westward at 09 knots.

In the Central/Eastern Pacific Ocean: Tropical storm 20e (Odalys), located approximately 919 nm south-southwest of San Diego, is tracking west-northwestward at 08 knots.

Brazil – Around 300 people have been displaced after torrential rainfall in the city of Sanharo in Pernambuco, a state in northeast Brazil. Around 300 people evacuated their homes, mostly in the Salgado neighbourhood of the city, and were temporarily housed in local schools and gyms.

Colombia – Flooding has affected the departments of Magdalena and Norte Santander in Colombia over the last few days. The country’s National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) reported that flooding has affected 9,200 families across 7 municipalities in Magdalena Department. No fatalities or injuries have been reported. Flooding has affected the department since late October. Thousands of homes have been damaged but as of 03 November. Relief items have been distributed to affected families.

Uganda – Red Cross in Uganda reports that 2 people have died after flash flooding in Kasese District. Around 1,200 families were displaced in Kasese due to the recent heavy rains and landslides. The affected families have camped at schools and churches for shelter.

Nicaragua and Honduras – Hurricane “Eta” made landfall on 03 November in the North Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region (RACCN) of Nicaragua as a category 4 hurricane, with sustained winds of 220 km/h. ETA was later downgraded to a category 2 hurricane, and continued to move over north-eastern Nicaragua, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to parts of neighbouring Honduras. Nicaragua’s disaster agency, SINAPRED, said that around 30,000 people had been pre-emptively evacuated from threatened areas in RACCN. In Honduras, the departments of Colon, Atlantida, Cotes, Yoro, and Gracias a Dios were under red alert as of 03 November.
