Forest Fires in Siberia


The forest fire situation has improved in Siberia. Siberia had 26 forest fires on 16,463.1 hectares on May 17. Some 467 forest service specialists and smokejumpers, 86 fire trucks and nine aircraft were fighting the blazes. Huge forest fires in the Republics of Tuva and Buryatia have been extinguished by fire fighters. Presently, Siberia has 26 forest fires on 16,463.1 hectares.

Fire crews are building containment lines around a wildfire south of Yosemite National Park that destroyed a home and several other structures.

Forest Fire - Chile


Another forest fire in Valparaiso, Chile has destroyed at least 60 homes. Around 150 families have been evacuated from the fire zone.


The fire is burning on the La Cruz and Mariposas hills of Valparaiso.

Forest Fire - Mexico


Forest fire in San Luis Potosi, commonly called SLP or simply San Luis in Mexico has killed a woman of 55 years old. The woman couldn't successfully fight the fire and died due to carbon monoxide poisoning in Tamuin.


Around 11 forest fires are currently burning across San Luis Potosi. Forest fires in San Luis Potosi have burned 2,500 hectares and displaced more than 400 people.


Most of the displaced people are from the Lagunillas and Huasteca regions.

Wildfires

Forest Fires in South Korea


Forest fire in Pohang has killed one Korean and injured 14 others. The fire destroyed about 53 houses after it entered a residential area and burned five hectares of homes.


More than 2,000 firefighters, soldiers and rescue employees are struggling to control the blaze.
