In the Atlantic Ocean
Tropical Storm Chantal churned across the Atlantic Ocean toward the eastern Caribbean on Monday on a track that would put it over flood-prone Haiti and the Dominican Republic later this week, U.S. forecasters said.
A tropical storm watch was in effect for Puerto Rico. Tropical storm warnings also were issued for the eastern Caribbean islands of Barbados, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Martinique and Guadeloupe.

Flooding in Toronto, Canada
A heavy storm brought more than 90 mm of rainfall, more than a month's average and has caused flash flooding and power outages in Toronto, Canada.
A flood warning has been issued for Toronto rivers. Porter Airlines has cancelled all flights to and from Toronto due to the severe weather. The flooding has also shut down the Don Valley Parkway.
According to Toronto Hydro, about 300,000 residents are without power across the Greater Toronto Area.
Yellow alert for rainstorms in China
China meteorological office has issued a yellow alert for rainstorms across the country.
Storms are expected to bring heavy rainfall along with flooding and landslides in Sichuan, Yunan, Gansu, Shaanxi, Liaoning and Jilin province in China.
