Tropical depression Genevieve was located approximately 940 nm north of Wake Island. The final advisory has been issued.

Hurricane Julio is passing well northeast of the main Hawaiian Islands. Julio is located about 405 mi...655 km NNE of Honolulu, Hawaii.

A tropical wave (Invest 94L) that moved off the coast of Africa on Saturday could potentially be a tropical storm when it arrives in the Lesser Antilles Islands next Saturday. Satellite loops show the wave has a modest amount of spin and respectable amount of heavy thunderstorms.

USA, Michigan - Detroit was pummelled with torrents of record-breaking rain Monday evening, stranding drivers on flooded freeways and leaving one dead. The city received 4.57 inches of rain Monday, Detroit's second highest on record following a rainfall of 4.74 inches in 1925, according to the National Weather Service. Some communities received more than 6 inches of rain. In contrast, the average rainfall for all of August is just 3 inches. The floodwaters took more than 16 hours to clear.
