Wildfires – Australia
Farmers across New South Wales have been dealt another blow after hundreds of hectares of crops were destroyed by fires ignited by a wild lightning storm. Up to 30 bushfires were burning across NSW on Tuesday following a two-day heatwave, with temperatures soaring past 40 degrees.
Last year more than five million hectares were ravaged across NSW with farmers struggling to keep livestock alive and maintain crops. The scorching weather over the weekend has now prompted fears the state is in for another hellish fire season.
