Ebola – DR Congo

An Ebola virus disease outbreak has resurfaced in Equateur Province, Democratic Republic of Congo. Health authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo today declared an outbreak of Ebola after a case was confirmed in Mbandaka, a city in the north-western Equateur Province. This is the third outbreak in the province since 2018.

Hepatitis – Denmark

The Statens Serum Institut reported this week at present, cases of hepatitis without a known cause are seen in children in a number of countries in the world – including Denmark. Three cases have been seen here since December.

Polio – Pakistan

A 15-month-old boy was paralyzed by wild poliovirus in the first such case in 15 months. This is the third case of wild polio to be reported globally in 2022. The type-1 wild poliovirus (WPV1) was confirmed in the child from North Waziristan on 22 April 2022 by the Pakistan National polio laboratory.
