Wildfires – Alaska
The Kwethluk Fire in southwest Alaska 30 miles southeast of Bethel has burned 10,302 acres. The area had less snow than usual this winter and it melted and exposed the tundra early. Wind, sun, and less precipitation than usual have dried out the fuel.
