Colombia – At least 8 people have died and 4 are missing after heavy rain caused landslides and flooding in parts of Cundinamarca department in central Colombia. Severe landslides struck in the municipality of Viotá overnight 21 to 22 April. Authorities said 5 people died in Viotá where several houses were completely destroyed or damaged, leaving many families homeless. Landslides in Cachipay also damaged homes on 22 April. Two fatalities were reported. Meanwhile national authorities report severe weather has affected over 20,000 people across the country since the start of the recent rainy season.
