Winter storm Athena hits New York and New Jersey where residents have been warned to evacuate their homes for the second time. 650 000 buildings remain without power one week after Hurricane Sandy struck, killing 106 people. 1 200 flights have been cancelled as Athena bring heavy snowfalls to already flooded areas. Utility companies are warning of further power outages. [This is the first 'named' winter storm since the Weather Channel decided to start naming powerful winter storms the same way tropical summer storms are named.]
