Storms and Floods

Typhoon Bopha kills at least 283 with hundreds still missing in the Philippines. Hardest hit was the southern island of Mindanao, where the typhoon triggered landslides, mudslides and floods along the coast and in farming and mining towns inland. An army truck laden with soldiers and civilians was swept away in a flash flood. At least 42 people were swept away by flash floods in New Bataan town, Compostela Valley and other 29 people were killed in the province of Davao Oriental, due to flash floods and strong winds.
