Storms and Floods

Flooding and landslides in Swansea and Pontypridd, Wales

-Several homes were evacuated after landslips due to flooding in a Swansea valley village and in Pontypridd.

-Flooding also disrupted train services between Cardiff Central and Bridgend, and Caersws and Machynlleth in Powys. -Lostwithiel in Cornwall and the area around Barnstaple in north Devon, England were also among the worst hit.

-People in Braunton, Umberleigh, Barnstaple and Bishops Tawton all suffered as Rivers Yeo and Caen burst their banks.

-There are currently seven flood warnings by the Environment Agency in Wales

Tropical Cyclone Four is located 420 nm east-southeast of Cape Guardafui, Somalia. This Tropical cyclone is expected to threaten portions of Somalia with heavy rain early this week.
