Storms and Floods

Typhoon Bopha is predicted to make landfall in Eastern Visayas or Northeastern Mindanao in the Philippines on Monday.


Landslide in Pakistan


-Five killed in recent Pakistan landslide. A landslide killed three Pakistani soldiers and two others in mountainous Jammu and Kashmir (Kel region).


-Eight soldiers and 10 civilians are still missing in landslide disaster.


-Heavy snow caused avalanche in Azad Kashmir near the de facto border with India.


-Rescue operations are hampered by continued bad weather in Kashmir.


Huge storm in Ballarat, Australia


-Storm in Ballarat (Victoria) damaged five houses.


-Most of the homes in Ballarat, Geelong, Warrnambool, Colac and Ararat lost the power.


-More than 120,000 lightning strikes were recorded across the state.


Flooding in Greece


-Heavy rainfall caused flooding in Greece.


-Three tornadoes hit the island of Zakynthos (Ionian Sea), Greece. Tornado caused damage in the region of Katakolon and Ancient Olympia.


-Floods in Xanthi, Northern Greece disrupted the train services too.


-People of Athens were also affected by recent flooding.


Heavy storm in Santa Cruz County, USA


-Heavy storm caused rainfall, flooding and power outage across Santa Cruz.


-Fallen trees and downed wires closed Highway 9 between Upper and Lower Glen Arbor Road.


Heavy rainfall collapsed a wall at the Pompeii archeological site in Campani, Italy.
