Tropical Storms

In the Western Pacific: At least four children are confirmed dead by tropical storm Rumbia with three others reported missing in central Philippines. Tropical storm Rumbia was located approximately 235 nm southward of Hong Kong.

In the Eastern Pacific: Tropical storm Dalila was located about about 150 mi (245 km) S of Manzanillo, Mexico. Gradual strengthening is expected during the next 48 hours and Dalila could become a hurricane on Tuesday. The centre is expected to remain well offshore the southwestern coast of Mexico, but Dalila is still expected to produce tropical storm conditions within the Mexican warning area on Monday.

Flooding and Landslides in China

Flooding and landslides across China have claimed the lives of at least 14 people. At least eight people died due to hailstorm in Erdos City in Mongolia. Landslides buried four in Anhui province in eastern China. Two others were buried in a landslide in Sichuan province. Six rivers overflowed in Huizhou district.

Other News:

A heavy storm in Karak, Pakistan has injured twenty five people. The storm also disrupted communications and power lines with hospitals declaring emergencies.

Heavy rainfall has caused flash flooding in Orange County and the Town of Chapel Hill in California, USA.

The National Weather Service has confirmed two small tornadoes in the Socastee area in South Carolina, USA on Saturday. A tornado with winds of up to 60 mph hit Cameron Village and another tornado touched near the Amberfield neighborhood. Tornadoes caused roof damage and downed trees.
