Floods and Landslides in China 's Yunnan Province claims 48 lives

A landslide in China's Yunan Province has claimed the lives of at least six people. The landslide hit at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning in Mohong, Fuyuan County and buried ten people. Four people were injured.

Around 109.5 mm rainfall had been recorded in Mohong by early Tuesday.

Another landslide occurred at the Xinxin Coal Mine engulfing ten workers.

Floods and landslides caused by torrential rain have claimed the lives of at least 48 people and left 21 missing in the last three days.

Hurricane Dalila

Dalila has strengthened into a hurricane as it moves away from Mexico's Pacific coast and is expected to weaken again.

The storm Tuesday had maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 kph). The storm is centered about 190 miles (306 kilometers) west-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, and is inching toward the west-northwest.

The government of Mexico has issued no storm warnings or watches for the coast.

Dalilia was expected to bring winds and rain accumulations of 1 to 3 inches to the country's coastline.

The biggest danger is heavy surf and rip currents.

At least 24 people have been evacuated after serious flooding in Lebanon, New Hampshire. The floods have washed out roads in Sulllivan, Cheshire and Grafton counties and also washed away a bridge to Washington making it difficult for victims to access emergency services.

Heavy rainfall triggered a landslide in Anmod Ghat, India along Goa-Karnataka road on Wednesday morning disrupting the road between Goa and Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall has caused flash flooding in Bangor, Northampton County in Wales.

The flood situation in Assam, India turned critical today as 80 more villages in the worst-hit Dhemaji and Morigaon districts were submerged and standing crops in nearly 1,100 hectares damaged.

Over 11,000 people are feared to be still missing in the flash-floods and landslides in Uttarakhand, India.

Two tornadoes touched down in separate counties in Connecticut, USA on Monday, the National Weather Service confirmed on Tuesday. The first tornado hit Fairfield County Monday morning. The second one landed in Hartford County in the early afternoon.

Strong tropical storm Rumbia landed in south China early Tuesday morning and is expected to move northwest, bringing gales and storms to regions along its path.
