Tropical Storm Bertha, which is expected travel east of the coast without making landfall in the United States. A weak area of low pressure will bring the rain over South Florida.

Hurricane Iselle should begin to weaken as it crosses into the Central Pacific Tuesday and moves over cooler waters.

Italy - A flash flood in Refrontolo, Italy has claimed the lives of at least four people and injured 20 others. The incident occurred when around 100 people were taking part in a countryside festival held under a tent in Refrontolo on Saturday night when a stream swollen by incessant rain overflowed.

Nepal - A landslide in the Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal has claimed the lives of at least five people, with five others still missing.

California, USA - Mudslides and floods in Southern California have claimed the life of a person and stranded thousands of people. One person was found dead after swift-moving floods swept the car off the Mount Baldy road. About 2,500 people have been stranded after thunderstorms caused mountain mudslides in Southern California. Amongst those stranded are some 500 children and adults who had arrived at Forest Home, a church camp in Forest Falls campground. Flash flood warnings and watches were issued in Southern California.
