Storms and Floods

Tropical Storms - Roundup of Tropical Storms:

Super typhoon 19w (Vongfong) is located approximately 510 nm south-southeast of Kadena Air Base.

Tropical cyclone 03b (Hudhud) is located approximately 562 nm south of Chittagong, India. Forecast to make landfall along the East Coast of India.

Quiet in the Atlantic - The top three models for predicting tropical cyclone genesis show nothing developing over the next five days in the Atlantic, though we should watch an area of disturbed weather between the Bahamas and Bermuda that could develop early next week. If development does occur, Bermuda would likely be the only land area affected by the storm.

NewsBytes:

Scotland - Bad weather has continued to cause disruption in the north of Scotland with several travel routes affected. No trains are running between Keith and Elgin because of flooding, affecting the Inverness-Aberdeen service. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) said the stretch of coastline from Findhorn to Lossiemouth and the Kingston and Spey Bay areas were likely to be affected by high tides. Parts of Portmahomack, Dingwall, Nairn and Golspie had been affected by flooding, while residents in Orkney and Shetland were also being warned of potential coastal flooding.
