Wildfires in Canada

Firefighters are warning the public to be mindful of their surroundings as three wildfires continue to burn in the B.C. Interior today. One fire, near the town of Ashcroft west of Kamloops, has been burning for more than a week.

Another fire burning two kilometres outside Nordegg, west of Rocky Mountain House in Alberta remains out of control. Residents in the small community were placed on a one-hour evacuation notice due to an out-of-control wildfire there on Thursday.

A wildfire advisory has been issued for central and southern Alberta. This advisory zone extends to just north of Edmonton.
