China - More powerful rainstorms havr wreaked havoc in south China over the past few days. Agricultural fields have become flooded, traffic has been brought to a standstill, and rescue teams have been dispatched to save trapped residents. Hunan province has born the brunt of the rainstorm, with 460,000 residents affected. In the village of Guangli, rains triggered devastating floods. Over 1,400 villagers had to be evacuated.

Ghana - Twenty-six houses were flooded while property worth millions of cedis was also destroyed by rains that hit Cape Coast and its environs.

India - Incessant rains in the past couple of days have flooded several rivers in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh threatening Tezu, the district headquarters and its adjoining villages. According to official sources on Sunday, Tezu Nallah, Shukha Nallah and Dening Nallah rivers in the district have swelled abnormally because of relentless rain over the last six days. The water resources department (WRD) is constantly monitoring the flood situation in the district, recording and updating the water levels and intensity of the rainfall. According to WRD sources, a staggering 363.6 mm rainfall was recorded during the last rainfall, which is a sign of an alarming flood situation.

USA - A tornado caused heavy damage to the downtown area of a small Nebraska town on Sunday, ripping off roofs and slightly injuring the town's police chief, authorities said. The tornado, which landed Sunday evening in Sutton, Nebraska, blew the roof off the City Hall building and completely destroyed a farmer's house outside town
