Drought in Pakistan

Famine due to a severe drought in Pakistan has claimed the lives of at least 40 people in last 28 days.

Farmers have endured poor rainfall for almost five successive years in the Tharparkar district in Sindh Province.

The ongoing drought has claimed more than 500 lives in three years. The provincial government has appealed to foreign donors to help mitigate the drought situation.
