Fish Restoration

The world's overexploited fisheries could be restored to sustainable levels in just 10 years through a coordinated worldwide effort that could double fish populations by 2050, researchers say. Helping overfished species recover during that time could help feed the world's growing human population, according to a report in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. It says fishing fleets would have to adhere to strict, science- based catch limits in exchange for the right to share in the eventual catch.
