India - Heavy rainfall and storms caused widespread damage in the Yavatmal, Nashik and Dhule districts in Maharashtra state, India claiming the lives of two people. Numerous houses were also damaged.

South Africa - Torrential rain and flooding throughout most of Durban in Kwa-Zulu-Natal overnight has left two people missing and presumed drowned after they were swept away by raging floodwaters.

China - As many as 35 people are missing following a landslide in southeastern China. The landslide occurred early Sunday after a heavy weekend downpour in Fujian province. Nearly 20 cm (8 inches) of rain fell in the mountainous region in less than 24 hours. When the landslide occurred about 5 a.m. local time, mud and rocks flowed downhill, burying a construction site where a hydroelectric power station was being built. The National Meteorological Center had warned residents in the province and neighboring areas to beware of possible landslides brought on by the heavy rain.

China - Heavy rain for days has flooded a railway line in Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, southwestern China, delaying passenger trains and rail traffic.

Morocco - Six people died and two others went missing following floods caused by heavy rains in southern Morocco.
