Newsbytes:

Haiti - Cholera outbreaks have killed at least 13 people in southwest Haiti in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, government officials told Reuters on Saturday, voicing concern that the disease was spreading.

Hurricane Matthew - More than three million people have been evacuated from Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina as Hurricane Matthew hits. The biggest storm in a century is set to hit around 26 million people with President Obama declaring a state of emergency and mobilising thousands of National Guard troops. The death toll in the US has risen to 19. Large parts of the east coast have been hit by the hurricane which swept in after devastating Haiti. Roads have been smashed and homes hit by the strong winds - which have started to decrease. Hurricane Matthew has made landfall over McClellanville, South Carolina, where it has caused devastating floods. The eye of the storm, which was downgraded to a category one today, had remained over the sea up until this point. People who experienced the force of the hurricane say that words can't describe the carnage, they returned to see every tree stripped of all leaves, huge 100 year old oaks are ripped out of the ground. 100’s of trees down, all the small limbs are torn off of trees, the landscape is mauled. Even grass is ripped out of the ground, not a leaf on any of the trees. All the highway signs smashed and all the signs destroyed.
