Swine Flu in Odisha, India

The first death of the year caused by swine flu in Odisha was reported on Saturday.

According to reports, a middle-aged patient died at a private hospital located in the Unit-IV area of the capital city. While the identity of the deceased and the hospital is yet to be established, the death has triggered panic among residents of the city where six persons tested positive for H1N1, the virus that causes the avian influenza, on Friday. So far 24 swabs in the State have tested positive with the virus of this deadly disease.
