Uganda - Floods from heavy rain have cut off the road linking Amuria to Otuke district. Cargo trucks and buses carrying goods and passengers are stranded at the Alito bridge which runs over Moroto river.

France - Flash floods caused by violent storms in France claimed another life on Friday when a man drowned in his car in the centre of the country, bringing the death toll to four. Heavy rain, lightning and sometimes hail have hit wine-growing areas in the Bordeaux, Cognac and Champagne regions over recent weeks, causing major damage to crops.
