Sulawesi, Indonesia - Floods in three provinces in Sulawesi have forced thousands of people to flee their houses for higher ground. Tthe National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) revealed that 4,198 people in North Konawe regency in Southeast Sulawesi had been evacuated to safer areas.
UK - Storms spark severe floods and travel chaos in South East as M20 is submerged – with more rain coming. Two sinkholes also forced parts of the M25 to close overnight while most of the rail line from Kent to London is submerged. Many parts of southern England have been completely submerged after heavy thunderstorms rolled in on Monday. Kent and East Sussex have seen the worst of the intense rainfall - but deluges have also affected parts of the South West, South Wales and East Anglia.
North Carolina, USA - Flash flooding in North Carolina has resulted in the deaths of three people, with Catawba County declaring a state of emergency. According to Associated Press, three men died on Saturday after their vehicle hit high water on a road west of Lincolnton and slammed into a tree. Runoff from the weekend's heavy rainfall could mean continued flooding along the Catawba River in the North Carolina foothills and Piedmont. Landslides are also possible.
