Tropical Storms – Roundup of Tropical Storms:

In the Southern Hemisphere: Tropical cyclone (tc) 02s (Bongoyo), located approximately 713 nm southeast of Diego Garcia, is tracking west-southwestward at 11 knots.

Iran – Heavy rain from 05 to 07 December caused more flooding in Iran. Previously 8 provinces were affected by floods in late November. Quoting disaster officials, local media in Iran reported heavy rain of up to 160mm in a few hours in Dashtestan in Bushehr Province causing severe flooding. At least 7 people have died in rain-related incidents in the country over the last few days.

Indonesia – Flooding submerged wide areas of Medan City in North Sumatra Province, Indonesia from 03 December 2020. Other areas of Sumatra Island and Java Island in Indonesia, along with 4 states in Peninsular Malaysia have also seen flooding over the last few days. One further fatality was reported after flooding in East Aceh Regency, Aceh Province that began 05 December 2020. Intial assessments suggest around 13,675 families are affected. Heavy rain caused the Deli, Babura and Denai rivers to overflow.
