Albania – The government in Albania reported on 10 January 2021 that flooding had affected wide areas in the north of the country after heavy rain that began on 06 January. Flooding from the Drin River in Lezhë County prompted 28 families to evacuated their homes. Around 2,850 hectares of land in is under water. Heavy rain also triggered landslides, damaging 6 buildings in the city of Lezhë and 2 in Mirdita. Around 1,500 residents have been left isolated after flooding destroyed the Kalivaç bridge. In Durrës County, 8 families were evacuated after flooding damaged homes and buildings. Over 500 hectares of land is under water. Meanwhile around 4,080 hectares of land is under water in Shkodër County. Severe flooding was also reported in parts of neighbouring Kosovo, in particular in the city of Gjakova. Heavy rains also caused a landslide blocking a highway connecting Kosovo with Albania.

Philippines – Thousands of residents of Bicol, Western Visayas and Eastern Visayas Regions in the Philippines have been struck by a second spate of flooding in a week. At the start of the new year, flooding in these regions left 3 dead and 3 missing.

Jamaica – Heavy rainfall caused damaging flash floods in Jamaica on 08 January 2021. St James Parish in the north west of the island was the worst affected area. Over 40mm of rain fell in just a few hours, triggering flash floods which damaged roads and buildings in several areas of the parish including the city of Montego Bay. Media reports said flood water and debris swept through streets, dragging along vehicles. Several people reportedly sustained injuries in the floods.

Indonesia – Two landslides struck in quick succession in the village of Cihanjuang in Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency in West Java Province on 09 January 2021. The first landslide occurred around 16:00 and the second at around 19:30 local time, caused by heavy rainfall and unstable soil conditions for the landslides. At least 14 houses were severely damaged or buried. One bridge was destroyed and roads wiped out.
