Germany – Heavy rain and flooding continue across parts of Germany. Tragedy struck in the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg when a man died in a flooded basement apartment in Biberach district. Days of stormy weather including lightning strikes, heavy rain and flash flooding, has affected areas of western, central and southern Germany since 03 June 2021.

Colombia – Heavy rain in several regions of Colombia has resulted in landslides and flooding, damaging hundreds of homes in the eastern department of Arauca and leaving 2 people dead in northwestern Antioquia. Local media reported flooding in the city and surrounding areas of Cúcuta, capital of Norte de Santander department, 05 June 2021. Roads were inundated in central parts of the city after the Pamplonita river broke its banks. One person died when a vehicle fell into a rainwater channel near a round on the outskirts of the city.

Guyana – As many as 25,000 households have now ben affected by widespread flooding in Guyana since mid-May according to the country’s Civil Defence Commission (CDC). CDC has received reports of more than 25,000 households impacted by flooding in more than 300 communities across all regions of Guyana since 18 May 2021. By 21 May some 1,400 homes had been flooded. Recent estimated suggest between 7,000 and 8,000 homes have now been damaged.
