Dengue Fever

Brazil – Through August 2, health officials in Minas Gerais state, Brazil recorded 86,442 probable cases of dengue. Of this total, 58,386 cases were confirmed for the disease. 40 deaths were confirmed by the disease in Minas Gerais and 49 deaths are investigated so far.

Philippines – In a follow-up on the dengue situation in the Philippines, the Philippines Department of Health (DOH) reported Monday the country’s tally has surpassed 90,000 cases. From January 1 to July 23 this year, 92,343 dengue cases have been recorded. This is 118 percent higher than the figure in the same period in 2021.

Florida, USA – The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County remains under a mosquito-borne illness advisory following the confirmation of an identified case of dengue in a Miami-Dade resident. This is the third local case of dengue infection in 2022.
