Landslide in Ecuador


Heavy rainfall caused landslide in Ecuador which has buried at least 14 people. The landslide occurred in Tabete in the Chinca district of Esmeraldas, a coastal province in Ecuador.

Flooding in Grafton, Illinois


Flood waters of the Mississippi River peak at more than 11 feet.


Fargo, North Dakota, is also preparing for flooding.


16 Tornadoes Tallied So Far This Year In Mississippi.


The number of tornadoes confirmed to have struck parts of Mississippi so far this year has risen to 16.


The National Weather Service reported Monday (April 22) that three tornadoes were confirmed from severe storms last Thursday in the Mississippi Delta region.


Landslide in Guizhou province of China claims 9


A landslide in Guizhou province in China has claimed the lives of nine people. At least two people are still missing.


Around 10,000 cubic meters of rock debris buried the workers. Rescue work is under way.

Floods in Ecuador


At least eight people have been died in recent flooding in Ecuador. The floods occurred in Guayas, a southwestern state of Ecuador.

Snowstorm in Japan


Heavy snow that fell in northern Japan over the weekend has killed eight people on Hokkaido island.


A woman and her three children died after their car stucked in snow. Two others were buried in Nakashibetsu and Yubetsu region


Avalanche in East Siberia, Russia


At least six teenage boys are reported to be missing in an avalanche in east Siberia, Russia.


The disaster occurred near Mugur-Aksy village close to the Mongolian border.


Dozens of rescue workers and a helicopter are still searching for the missing boys.


More Floods NSW, Australia


More heavy rainfall across northern NSW has again flooded many parts of the region's coastal river valleys, with flood warnings still in place. Beef and dairy cattle farms in the Manning Valley are covered with floodwater.

Mine mudslides in Pueblo Nuevo, Ecuador


-At least 12 killed and 20 others injured in Ecuador mudslides. Heavy rain in a gold-mining community in southern Ecuador caused mudslide.


-Mudslide happened after six hours of torrential downpours.


-Mudslides have destroyed houses and blocked roads in Pueblo Nuevo. Natural disaster area can only be reached by helicopter.


-Around 200 soldiers and policemen are working in rescue operations.

-At least five tornadoes hit Queensland coastal towns, injuring 17 people.


-Burnett Heads and nearby Bargara have been declared as natural disaster areas.


-Tornadoes in Bundaberg district destroyed around 150 homes.


-About 2 000 people have been ordered to evacuate in Gladstone.


-Flood warnings have also been issued for the Calliope, Boyne, Baffle and Kolan Rivers.


-Australian weather bureau has predicted heavy rain and destructive winds for Brisbane of up to 125km/h until Monday

-At least 36 people have been reported to be killed in recent Mozambique floods.


-A total of 26 persons have died in Gaza alone.


-Floods caused by torrential rains in South Africa and Zimbabwe that swelled the Limpopo river has displaced nearly 67,995 Mozambicans.


-Floods have damaged several bridges, roads and schools in capital Maputo.


-Some days ago, Mozambique officials had evacuated 55,000 people from flood disaster zone.


-Mozambican and South African military helicopters and boats have rescued 12,000 families.

Colombia evacuates communities close to the Nevado del Ruiz volcano after new eruptions of ash.

Galeras volcano in Colombia is also rumbling and emitting large quantities of sulphur dioxide..

Tungurahua volcano in Ecuador and Popocatepetl volcano in Mexico have small eruptions, sending up ash accompanied by small earthquakes.

Volcanos

Popocatepetl volcano in Mexico continues to rumble, with lava flows still active and posing a danger to residents nearby.

Ongoing activity also at Tungurahua volcano in Ecuador, Karymsky and Shiveluch volcanos on Kamchatka, Bagana volcano on Bougainville and Santa Maria volcano in Guatemala.
