Storms and Floods

Tropical Storm Rafael hits the US Virgin Islands and threatens Puerto Rico.


Tropical Storm Paul has formed in the eastern Pacific, 660 miles (1062 kilometers) south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California.


Typhoon Prapiroon is located approximately 325 nm south-southeast of Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan.


In the Indian Ocean, Tropical cyclone Anais is located approximately 395 nm southwest of Diego Garcia. It is the first tropical cyclone of southern Indian Ocean season.


Super Typhoon Megi is battering communities in the north of the Philippines with heavy rains and powerful winds of 225 km/h. The category 5 storm is the strongest to hit the Philippines in four years. Numerous communities have been cut off by floods.
