Climate Central did an exhaustive analysis of 1,730 weather stations in the Lower 48 and found that just two percent are having a colder than average year. Yes, that means 98 percent of the country’s thermometers are running above average in 2016. Incredibly, “10 percent of those are having their hottest year on record”.
