Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois USA - At least eight people died due to flooding and tornadoes in Missouri, Arkansas and Texas over the weekend with dozens more injured. Three tornadoes struck Texas east of Dallas claiming the lives of five people. Floodwaters washed away a 72-year-old woman whose body was recovered in southwestern Missouri. Another woman died after a tree fell on her mobile home in De Witt, Arkansas, about 80 miles east of Little Rock.

Southwest Missouri received considerable amounts of rain late Friday night and into Saturday. Areas are flooded, roadways are closed, sink holes in some parts and the town of Seneca is completely closed down due to the flooding.

Heavy rains moved across southern Illinois on Sunday prompting the National Weather Service to issue flood warnings for the area. Cities including Carbondale, Mount Vernon and Carmi were affected. At least two rivers reached or exceeded flood stage including the Little Wabash and Skillet Fork rivers. High waters also were reported along the Mississippi and Ohio rivers.

Nepal - At least four people died and three others were injured after a mud collapse on the bank of Banke River in the Sarlahi district of Nepal after heavy rains.

Indonesia - Flash floods resulting from heavy rain have killed at least five people in the Central Java regency of Magelang. Magelang Disaster Mitigation Agency said the flash floods had occurred on Saturday after intense rain in the Grabag subdistrict since noon that day. The rain had caused Ndaru River in the village of Nipis to overflow and cause landslides.
