Somalia - The forces of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and the Somali National Security Service have evacuated over 10,000 people stranded in the south-central city of Beledweyne as a result of the severe floods in the country. Almost 500 000 people have been affected by the floods. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the current floods are some of the worst the region has ever seen, and the current water level exceeds a 50-year return period in most locations.
