Indonesia – Floods have submerged 21,888 houses in five sub-districts of Bandung District, West Java since Thursday (April 30, 2020), affecting 81,088 residents (24,898 families), according to data from the West Java Disaster Mitigation Office (BPBD). The flood-affected sub-districts are — Dayeuhkolot, Baleendah, Arjasari, Bojongsoang, and Banjaran. Flooding has been reported in 21,888 houses in the five sub-districts of Bandung Regency. Flood waters have also entered 46 schools, 96 places of worship, and 27 public facilities.

Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan – A broken reservoir dam flooded parts of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, forcing tens of thousands from both countries to evacuate, authorities said Saturday. The Syr Darya river, which runs near the border between the two countries, overflowed after the dam broke Friday, the Uzbek and Kazakh governments said. About 70,000 people from 22 villages in Uzbekistan and 5,400 people from four Kazakhstan villages were moved out.

Malaysia – Some 600 natives living in Long Bemang longhouse in remote Baram district were hit by floods. Heavy rain last night saw 100 living units inundated by about 0.8m of water this morning. Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department today said the longhouse was fully occupied by residents.
