Cholera – West Africa
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has released statistics on the ongoing cholera outbreak in West Africa, and noted certain increases in cases in the region, with 22,366 cases and 475 deaths of cholera recorded within 48 weeks of observation. The Congo River Basin remains to be the epicenter of the outbreak.
