Tropical Storms – Roundup of Tropical Storms:
In the Northwest Pacific Ocean: Tropical depression 04w (Choi-Wan), located approximately 322 nm east-southeast of Manila, Philippines, is tracking northwestward at 12 knots.
In the Eastern Pacific Ocean: Tropical Storm 02e (Bianca), located approximately 1198 nm south-southeast of San Diego, is tracking northwestward at 06 knots.

Philippines – Tropical Depression Choi-Wan (local name ‘Dante’) intensified into a tropical storm on 31 May, 2021 as it entered the Philippines Area of Responsibility (PAR). Rainfall from Choi-Wan is already making an impact. Meanwhile in Davao del Sur Province, several areas have been affected by the storm, where over 600 people have evacuated their homes and moved to 10 emergency evacuation shelters.
Guyana – The current floods began around mid-May. Civil Defence Commission (CDC) in Guyana reported flooding in the regions of Upper Demerara-Berbice (Region 10), East Berbice-Corentyne (Region 6) and Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo (Region 9) from 11 May 2021. As of 21 May over 1,380 homes were flooded, crops and livestock damaged and some families evacuated. Meanwhile the town of Bartica in Region 7 Cuyuni-Mazaruni, which sits at the confluence of the Cuyuni and Mazaruni Rivers with the Essequibo River, was flooded from around 25 May. Media said parts of the town were under flood water 1 metre deep affecting dozens of families.
