In the Northwest Pacific Ocean: Tropical Storm 04w (Choi-Wan), located approximately 97 nm west of Kadena AFB, is tracking northwestward at 25 knots.

Sri Lanka – Severe weather including heavy rain, flash floods, landslides and strong winds has affected Sri Lanka since 03 June 2021. According to the latest reports, 3 people have died and 2 are missing. Flooding in Gampaha District affected 98,052 people and displaced 3,551. Floods also struck in Colombo District, affecting 28,240 people and displacing 1,469. In Nuwara Eliya district, 290 people were affected by floods and 44 displaced.
Canada – Evacuation orders were issued on 03 June 2021 for residents of Kitimat-Stikine district in northwestern British Columbia, Canada, due to rising water levels of the Skeena River. The district said “Due to the above normal snow levels and precipitation, the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine is alerting citizens to the potential for serious widespread flooding.” A local state of emergency has been declared.
