In the North Indian Ocean: Tropical cyclone 02b (two), located approximately 798 nm south-southeast of Kolkata, India, is tracking northwestward at 08 knots.

In the Southern Hemisphere: Tropical cyclone 25s (Karim), located approximately 510 nm west-northwest of the Cocos islands, Australia, is tracking southeastward at 07 knots.

Tasmania – Tasmania’s south-east has been hit with a record-breaking storm that hammered towns with hail, resulted in dozens of flood warnings, and left thousands more without power. A record-breaking amount of rain was dumped on Hobart and large hail fell over some suburbs. Mount Wellington in Hobart was hit by 105mm of rain, a two-year high, and 107km/h winds were recorded; a three-month high.
