Disease

Monkeypox

The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) reports closely monitoring a recent resurgence of Mpox cases in the city. It is noted that it’s nowhere near the number of cases seen at the height of the outbreak last summer, there have been 13 cases (12 confirmed, one probable) reported to CDPH over the past three weeks. Some of those new cases are among people who had been fully vaccinated.

This report comes on the same day the World Health Organization declared the Mpox outbreak is no longer a global health emergency.
