Anthrax - India

Health officials in the municipality of Koraput report an anthrax outbreak in the villages of Dasmantpur block in which 12 cases have been reported, according to a New Indian Express report. One person died, while the other 11 are either being treated or already in stabile condition. The patients started showing symptoms of anthrax after consuming cow meat in a feast.

Cholera - DR Congo

A total of 329 new cases of the cholera epidemic including 11 deaths were recorded in two weeks in two health zones including Katuba and Kisanga, towns located west of the city of Lubumbashi in Haut-Katanga.

Dengue Fever - Brazil

The Brazil Ministry of Health reported 82,254 probable cases of dengue through April 2023 in EspĂ­rito Santo. This compares 2,844 probable cases reported during the same period in 2022, a nearly 2800 percent increase. In addition to dengue, other arboviruses have seen an increase in the state–There were also 4,492 possible cases of chikungunya, compared to 586 records in the same period last year. As for Zika cases, 3,267 cases were registered in 2023, against 53 in the same period of 2022.
