New Cold Temperature Record
The coldest place on Earth is a high ridge on the East Antarctic Plateau.
The temperatures there have plunged to minus 93.2 degrees Celsius. The previous record holder was the Vostok Research Station, which reached minus 89 degrees Celsius in 1983.
