In the South Indian Ocean:

Tropical Cyclone Amara is headed toward the Mauritius’ Rodrigues Island, prompting warnings, and weather forecasters say the storm is expected to strengthen.

Tropical Cyclone Bruce continued to strengthen over wide open waters of the Southern Indian Ocean and NASA satellite data showed its eye had cleared of clouds. Bruce is forecast to stay away from land areas and weaken over the next four days.

Landslide in Central Java, Indonesia has claimed the lives of four people and injured four others. Torrential rains in Kebumen district in Central Java triggered the landslide on Friday and came after flooding in Indonesia claimed the lives of four people and displaced over 4,000 people three days ago.

More than 1,500 people were evacuated from their homes after low-lying villages here were hit by floods in Tenom, Borneo.
