Wildfires

Wildfires - Perth, Australia

An unpredictable bushfire burning out of control in Perth's southern suburbs has been downgraded. The fire warning has changed from an emergency to a watch and act for the western parts of Casuarina and Anketell in the City of Kwinana. The bushfire has crossed the Kwinana Freeway, and is now moving slowly in a northeasterly direction towards Wandi Nature Reserve. There is still a possible threat to lives and homes.

Another watch and act alert is in place for the Wilgarrup area in the Shire of Bridgetown, where the bushfire is moving fast, at 200 metres an hour, in a east-southeasterly direction. Firefights expect the wind may shift and potentially threaten the town of Wilgarrup.

In Perth's north, a bushfire alert in place for the eastern part of Bullsbrook in the City of Swan has been downgraded from a watch and act to advice.
