Volcanos

Roundup of Global Volcanic Activity

Dukono (Halmahera): Intense ash emissions from the volcano create plumes at low altitude (2-2.5 km) that extend up to approx. 100 km to the NE.

Colima (Western Mexico): Activity at the volcano remains essentially unchanged. Explosions of small to moderate size continue to occur from the summit crater at irregular intervals (up to a few times a day).

Fuego (Guatemala): Activity has calmed down. Explosions have been only of smaller size, but the lava flows on the upper southern and western flanks remained weakly active last evening.

Cotopaxi (Ecuador): During the past days, intermittent explosive activity has resumed at the volcano's summit crater. Intense activity on 8 and 9 Oct generated ash plumes that rose up to 1-1.5 km height above the crater and drifted to the west.
