Volcanos

Roundup of Global Volcanic Activity

Suwanose-jima (Ryukyu Islands): Activity has been more intermittent over the past days, but occasional (presumably strombolian) explosions continue to occur, producing small ash plumes that rise up to approx. 2 km altitude and quickly disperse.

Sabancaya volcano (Peru): A pilot reported seeing a small ash plume from the volcano today. On satellite imagery, no ash is visible, but it's plausible that a small eruption occurred. The volcano has been producing sporadic emissions from time to time during the past months. Buenos Aires VAAC keeps Aviation Colour Code at yellow.
